Our Story
Leeds Arts Council has serviced as a cultural cornerstone of our community for more than 40 years.
Originally organized in 1985 throgh the Jefferson County Community Schools program, the organization grew from a local arts initiative into an indepentent nonprofit dedicated to enriching lide through the arts.
After recieving 501(c)(3) status in 1993, Leeds Arts Council continued to expand its impact. In 200, a historic downtown building was renovated into the Leeds Theatre & Arts Center, creating a permanent home for theatre productions, visual arts exhibitions, concerts, education programs, and community events.
Today, Leeds Arts Council welcomes thousands of visitorys, performents, artists, students, volunteers, and supporters each year through programming designed to make the arts accessible to everyone.
