This camp is designed for rising 2nd graders through rising 12th graders. The workshop will be held June 5-16 with performances June 16-18. Each child who attends the workshop will have a part in the play and will appear on stage. Tickets to all performances will be open to family and friends of students for $10 each.

Disney’s Finding Nemo JR. is a 60-minute musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar movie Finding Nemo, with new music by award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves. Featuring memorable songs such as “Just Keep Swimming,” “Fish Are Friends Not Food,” and “Go With the Flow,” Finding Nemo JR. brings a vibrant underwater world to life on stage in a story full of family, friendship, and adventure.

We would love for your student to be a part of this wonderful experience! The cost of camp is $225 per student, and if more than one sibling attends, the cost of each additional sibling is $200. Directed by Anna Kate Hindman

Leeds Arts Council is thrilled to announce our second 2023 Summer Camp directed by Anna Kate Hindman.

The world of theatre is a wonderful artistic and emotional outlet for everyone, but it can be hard to know where to start if you are a newcomer to the stage. This camp will teach your student all the basics through a course specifically designed for them! From singing to acting to dancing to all the details in between, we will introduce your student to the art of theatre. Or, if your student has some theatre experience under their belt, this camp offers the perfect opportunity to build on what they already know and explore new areas of performance. The camp’s big finale will be a showcase of all the skills they learned based on the students’ collective and individual interests. Whether your student is brand new to the world of theatre or knows how much they love performing and wants to take their skills to the next level, then this is the camp for them!

Anna Kate Hindman is a Theatre for Youth Major at Samford University. She has had experience working with students in the arts both on stage and in the classroom. From theatrical sensory stories with toddlers, to arts integration in fourth grade history units, to high school character work masterclasses. She is also a performer with some of her favorite roles being Eliza Doolittle (Pygmalion) and Beate Stern (My Broken Doll), as well as playing the lead in the locally filmed movie New South Cottage. She looks forward to getting to know and working with your students!

Our second theatre camp will be held June 19-June 30, with performances June 30-July 1. Tickets will be available to friends and family to attend for $6.

This camp is designed for rising 1st graders through rising 8th graders. The cost of camp is $200 per student, and if more than one sibling attends, the cost of each additional sibling is $175. Please visit leedsartscouncil.org to register for class. Enrollment is limited to 30 students so reserve your spot today!
